Gina, here we are with my lesson learned. Actually...no. Lesson in progress.
After 9 months of speech therapy, I am still working on every single point in the following list and this is only my point of view. I am not a therapist. I am just a parent.
This is not a suggestion, this is a MUST! Find a therapist as the one that has the patience to deal with us.
I see her like a family therapist.
This helps, not only your kid, but all the family to go trough all this. It's not a one hour weekly therapy to make the difference. It's what you can bring at home from that therapy session. Everything will be much easier! I promise!
I found myself venting with her, asking suggestions about my kid even if not strictly related to the motor speech delay. I would love to have her at home with us 24hrs a days. (Maybe she and her kids will disagree on this last point...)

Thank you for all the support, it has helped me and J process. We want to learn everything we can about ASD. Having answers to questions we have been thinking about but afraid to explore further, has changed everything for the better. There is now a reason for the things L does.
J and I want to dig into this, do the work and be on the same page with how we move forward. Thank you for the gentle approach in discussing this topic. I appreciate coming into the realization without a bombardment of fear.

Gina has vast knowledge of speech/language development, and endless ideas of how to support P to get her to her next steps. Even in between sessions, Gina shared creative and inventive strategies and games with me, and is constantly adjusting her approach both between visits, and moment to moment, in sessions to keep P right on the "just right" edge of learning. This is particularly challenging with P, as her ability to cope and attend can vary widely.
Gina is warm and animated. She is genuine in her connection with us and whatever we bring to sessions. Gina is never overwhelmed, and shows kindness always. Additionally, Gina intuitively understands P in the context of her relationships, knowing P is still refining a secure attachment [given her traumatic start to life].
...P's team at the UW's Experimental Education Unit even dubbed her "Genius Gina" for all the input she's provided throughout the school year as she teams with them as well.
I recommend Gina with great enthusiasm, with her excellent work with our family.

Hi Gina, I so appreciate all of the time and thought you put into your feedback. I just shared this with M. We are deeply grateful!
You had a lot of thoughts for us to sink our teeth into. This is really going to help us to improve our future videos and parenting tips.

Gina,
You are such an amazing therapist, with a kind heart and an amazing talent for building relationships beyond what is "expected"!
There are many therapists out there, but there are very few who take such pride in their work and provide this level of care for their clients, but also parents. You are the best!

Gina, This is exciting. How rich for this child to get the benefit of your SLP expertise, and for mom to benefit from your ability to help her think about her own emotional reactions to her son.
Mom has now seen herself shift, not just been coached how to shift. This is what she remembers from the session - her own path - which is hopeful for their relationship.

We worked with Gina for over three years, and she has been a truly meaningful part of our child’s early development journey. Gina brings a rare combination of deep professional expertise, patience, and genuine care into her work.
She adapted strategies thoughtfully over time, and supported growth in a way that felt both intentional and respectful. Gina communicates clearly with families and creates a calm, trusting environment that makes a real difference.
We always felt supported, informed, and confident in the direction of the therapy.

I grew up in China and came to US 4 years for pursuing an engineer career. Gina helped me to speak English more naturally so other people can better understand me. Her help on adult English speaking as a second language speaker is very professional. This helped me to gain confidence in workspace.

Dear Gina, I just realized I missed wishing you on Mother's Day! I hope you had a fantastic day. We still talk about the amazing times we had with you and how much it helped us. Thank you for everything!

For the presenter, my favorite part was...Can I say the whole thing? From her energy to her knowledge and humor. This was excellent. Thank you!

Thanks for the opportunities to consider and role play. Appreciate the wonderful handouts and resources.

I loved this class. Yes, it was intellectually stimulating but also very relevant to where we are going and who we will be working with in the future.
The lectures and work expectation were more challenging, but in a good way. I really enjoyed this class a lot, and the work we did throughout the course.
It really opened up my eyes to the benefits of having good communication skills, specifically with parents!
